Agustin Castilla-Avila is a pioneer in microtoal music, particularly with guitar scordaturas. Mr. Castilla-Avila’s research is based in Salzburg, with the Ekmelic Society at the Mozarteum. He cooperates with John Rienhard and the Festival of Microtonal Music, Inc. in New York, and with many organizations throughout the EU. Mr. Castilla-Avila has developed a research project, based at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, exploring instrumental techniques interchange.
